Rick Ferrell was a pro baseball player, coach, scout, and executive. He played for 18 seasons as a catcher in MLB from 1929 through 1947 for the St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox, and Washington Senators. Ferrell was regarded as one of the best catchers in baseball during the 1930s and early 1940s. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984 by the Veterans Committee.
